DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS

   REENTRY SUPPORT SPECIALISTS

WORKING WITH INMATE POPULATION SINCE JANUARY 2009 STARTED AS A VOLUNTEER AND NOW THE HOPE FOUNDATION HAS A CONTRACT WITH TWO PROGRAMS RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PROGAM, AND THE RE- ENTRY HOUSING UNIT. WE FACILITATE WORKSHOPS, PARENTING GROUPS, ANGERMANAGEMENT GROUPS AND RECOVERY SUPPORT GROUP AND CONDUCT A CASE CONFERENCE WITH STAFF ON A RELAESE PLAN TO HELP WITH TRANSITION. INMATE ARE REFERRED TO OUR (FRESH START MENTORING PROGRAM) FOR A SUCCESSFUL REENTRY.

COURT SERVICES AND OFFENDER SUPERVISION AGENCY (CSOSA)

  • THE HOPE FOUNDATION CONDUCT QUARTERLY PRESENTATIONS FOR MASS ORIENTATION TO NEWLY PROBATION AND PAROLED CLIENTS UNDER THERE (CJAN) COMMUNITY JUSTICE ADVISORY NETWORK AND INTRODUCE THE (FRESH START MENTORING PROGRAM) AS AN ADITIONAL SUPPORT GROUP.

  • THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MR. KNIGHT CONDUCT CASE CONFERENCES WITH THE CSO OFFCERS AND CLIENTS TO HELP PARTICIPANT REMAIN IN COMPLIANCE WITH CSOSA RULES AND REGULATIONS WHILE ON PROBATION AND PAROLE.

  • THE HOPE FOUNDATION VOLUNTEERS CONDUCT MEETING AT CSOSA RE-ENTRY SANCTION CENTER EVERY SATURDAY TO PROVIDE CLIENTS PEER TO PEER MENTORING AND NA GROUPS.

  • JANUARY 2014 THE HOPE FOUNDATION WILL FACILITATING OUR NEW GROUP AT CSOSA OFFICE BUILDING ON 25 K ST. NE

Mr. Knight conducts a Criminal Thinking group weekly for clients on probation or parole one hour group

FAITH-BASE INITIATIVE PROGRAM/ CSOSA FAITH COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

THE HOPE FOUNDATION RECEIVE CLIENTS FROM THE FAITH COMMUNITY AND WORK WITH CHURCHES IN THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND RETURNING CITIZENS. OUR STAFF HAS BEEN TRAINED BY CSOSA COMMUNITY JUSTICE PROGRAM, MENTOR TRAINING AND COGNITIVE BEHAVIOR TRAINING TO HAVE AN EFFECTIVE IMPACT ON OFFENDERS.

U.P.O / RALPH WALDO ‘’PETEY’’ COMMUNITY SEVICES CENTER (WARD 8)

WORK WITH THE DIRECTOR AND PROGRAMS ACTIVITIES AND U.P.O. ARE ALSO AN EXTENDED RESOURCE FOR THE HOPE FOUNDATION CLIENTS TO HELP MEN AND WOMEN TRANSITION SUCCESSFULLY INTO THE COMMUNITY. WE WORK WITH THE ORGANIZATION TO ENGAGE AND EMPOWER OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN THE WARD 8 COMMUINTY.

SALVATION ARMY/ HARBOR LIGHTS TREATMENT PROGRAM (DC)

PROVIDE THE TREATMENT PROGRAM WITH VOLUNTEER PEER TO PEER ROCOVERY SPECIALIST (MEN AND WOMEN IN RECOVERY) TO CONDUCT WEEKLY MEETING AND INTRODUCE THE TO THE FRESH START MENTORING PROGRAM AS AN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT SYSTEM AFTER TREATMENT, THIS IS AN EXCELLENT BEENFIT FOR A PERSON COMING FROM TREATMENT TO GET ADDITIONAL SUPPORT AND REMAIN DRUG FREE.,

WARD 8 ANC ADVISORY NEIGHBOR COMMISION

COMMNUNITY ADVISORY AND REENTRY SUPPORT SPECIALIST

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE HOPE FOUNDATION ATTENDS ALL WARD 8 ANC MEETINGS TO COLLABORATE AND ENSURE THAT THE RETURNING CITIZEN COMMNITY HAS THE PROPER RESOURCE FOR SUCCESSFUL RE-ENTRY.

THE HOPE FOUNDATION RE-ENTRY IS DESIGNED TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN REURNING CITIZENS AND SOCIETY BY OFFERING MENTORSHIP AND ASSISTING WITH EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, TRANSITIONAL HOUSING, AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES. HFRN INTIMATELY ACCOMPANIES PRE-RELEASED RETURNING CITIZENS INTO THE COMMUNITY WHERE THERE ARE CONNECTED WITH THE APPROPIATE SUPPORTIVE SERVICES. OUR MISSION IS TO BUILD A SUPPORT SYSTEM THAT WILL RESTORE THE CONFIDENCE OF RETURNING CITIZENS AND REINTRODUCE RESPECTED, HARDWORKING, LAW ABIDING MEN AND WOMEN TO SOCIETY. THE OBLECTIVE OF THE HOPE FOUNDATION IS TO REDUCE RECIDIVISM AND INCREASE PUBLI SAFETY IN OUR COMMUNITIES.
